There's a guide here which just happens to use a HX1050 (you can buy those fan adaptor cables on ebay). There's a video guide here on changing the fan on a Corsair CX series but it's the same. Sorry guys there seems to be confusion here, this is what happened (is happening) 1 - have a solid working system. 2 - buy new corsair psu, swap out with old one. 3 - psu doesnt power board, at all, tiny little spin from the fan. 4 - put old psu back in, all fans come on, but now no video.

So recently i bought new Corsair HX 850, i installed and have problem when it without any load or with it spins on 100%, i took it back to reseller and we tested in together on their system (it was AMD proc. and 650 GTX) Furmark+Linx (they even put a bag on PSU to make it more hotter)but PSU was very quiet and spins sometimes and make no noise.
